Buenos Aires, Jan 18 (NA) – The former president of San Lorenzo, Marcelo Moretti, made a forceful post on social networks in which he attacked the current leadership, the management of the squad, and the institutional status after the declaration of a vacancy.
According to what the Argentine News Agency (Agencia Noticias Argentinas) was able to find out, the former president published an extensive message through his official account on the X platform (Twitter) in which he pointed against Sergio Costantino, elected interim president of San Lorenzo, with a mandate until the extraordinary elections scheduled for May 2026.
In his post, Moretti not only expressed his frustration with the team's performance and the lack of reinforcements for the tournament, but he also reiterated his position on how the current Board of Directors came to power.
"There is a very good squad, excellent young players, but we are missing reinforcements. And that's what I was working on until they invented a vacancy and staged a coup against me," the former manager wrote.
Moretti added: "this current de facto president and his board of directors have not assembled a squad in 30 days of management... and 21 days of pre-season have passed... and we are just 5 days away from the start of the new tournament..."
In his statement, the former president also stated that San Lorenzo registered an increase in the net liability of 3 million dollars since his departure, and questioned the management of subscribers, which he described as deficient with revenues well below expected.
In addition, he pointed out that the money from the sale of players made during his management —according to his version— will be used to settle liabilities generated by the current board of directors.
"Beyond that, now with the sale of Báez, the total amount of the injunctions they themselves created will be paid. To compete seriously. That was the idea and the project we planned when we met in November after the last tournament."
